To understand ENERGY HEALING and the hand positions used, one will have to have some knowledge of the chakras. The ENERGY HEALING hand positions as used covers and treats all the major chakras. The chakras are both connected to the physical organs in our body and the different layers in the aura. Our chakras are parts of a large network of energies. The human body's system consists of sensory, breathing, circulation, digestion, reproduction and secretion. There are six corresponding chakras for these bodily functions. The brain and the whole being also has one chakra, making a total of 7 major chakras.

The body's energy system is made up of energy
that flows up and down your spine
to various centers of your body.

Each of these centers is a generator for a different part of the body. Where there is a break in the flow of this energy through emotional, mental or physical trauma, the energy will often decrease or get stuck. A large lack of this vital force may later become an abnormality such as pain, discomfort or disease.

THESE CHAKRAS ARE SITUATED AT

1st center = MULADHARA /Base/Root
(SITUATED AT BOTTOM OF PELVIS)
Our survival instinct and basic physical needs

2nd center = SVADISHTHANA / Sacral
(SITUATED JUST BELOW THE NAVEL)
Emotional intuitive center because it is associated with
our feelings and raw emotions and the storage area for our hurts.
Physically this center corresponds to our sexual organs, spleen and bladder.

3rd center = MANIPURA / Solar Plexus
This is where our emotions are more refined !
It has to do with WILL and A SENSE OF SELF (ego)
On the physical level, it's associated with our stomach & digestion.
The emotional storage area for anger and repression.

4th center = ANAHATA / Heart
Associated with the heart, the thymus and blood circulation.
It's also the center of love, compassion, trust, giving and receiving.
When this center is blocked, symptoms may feel like a lack of love for self & others.

5th center = VISHUDDHA Throat
Physically, this is the center of our creative expression, our voice, throat,
mouth thyroid and hypothalamus.
Emotional problems that stick to this area usually pertain to feeling
powerless in expressing our true self.

6th center = AJNA / Brow / 3rd Eye
(SITUATED ON THE FORHEAD BETWEEN BROWS)
When focusing on this center during meditation,
one can develop spiritual awareness.
Physically this center corresponds with our eyes, the pineal
and pituitary glands located in the brain.

7th center = SAHASRARA / Crown
(SITUATED ON TOP OF THE HEAD)
It's the seat of spiritual consciousness and protection.
Physically it corresponds to our spinal column,
central nervous system and cerebral cortex.
